Ketchikan Halibut Fishing
Happy Halibut Fishing!

My 4-hour and 6-hour charters are designed to fit within your cruise ship schedule and make the most of your fishing time in Ketchikan. I operate out of Knudson Cove Marina, which is located near some of the best salmon and halibut fishing grounds in the Ketchikan area.

I work with passengers arriving in Ketchikan via all cruise lines. I encourage you to book your fishing charter directly with me. Booking directly is less expensive and provides more scheduling flexibility, which means more time for fishing!

Cost:
The cost of a 4-hour charter is $140 per person
(3 person minimum, room for 6)
The cost of a 6-hour charter is $175 per person
(3 person minimum, room for 6)

The 6-hour trip allows you 50% more fishing time for $35 extra per person. This time will allow for more fishing and sightseeing. The Ketchikan area has more bald eagles than anywhere in the world. We frequently see humpback and killer whales, porpoises, seals, and sea lions on my charters.

Getting Here: When your ship arrives in downtown Ketchikan, there will be cabs available to bring you to Knudson Cove Marina, which is located approximately 15 miles north of downtown. The scenic cab ride along the shoreline of Tongass Narrows takes about 20 minutes and costs $35 one way. Cabs can accommodate up to six adults. I will be waiting to meet you at Knudson Cove Marina. The coffee will be hot and my boat will be clean and ready to go fishing. Plan to start fishing approximately an hour after your ship’s arrival time in Ketchikan.

Fishing Licenses: I am an Alaska License vendor, so you can purchase your Alaska fishing licenses onboard. The cost for a non-resident, one-day fishing license is $20.00 and King Salmon tags (required when salmon fishing in May and June) are $10.00. Kids under 16 do not require a license.

Your Catch: Fish processing and shipping is available for your catch.

Payments and Deposit: I ask for a 20% non-refundable deposit to confirm your fishing date. Your balance is due on the day we fish. Charter rates listed above do not include the cost of Alaska fishing licenses or tags, cab fare to/from Knudson Cove Marina, or fish processing. A 2.5% Ketchikan borough sales tax will also be added. Payment is via cash, personal check or Visa M/C.

If you’re visiting Ketchikan for a full day or more, I recommend that you consider one of my all-day or multi-day charters.

Cost: The cost of an All-day charter (8-10 hours) is $250 per person (4 person minimum, room for 6). Upon receipt of your non-refundable deposit, I will reserve my boat exclusively for your group.

All-day and Multi-day Charters provide the most flexibility for your group. You’ll have time to troll for salmon and bottom fish for halibut. A longer charter also allows us to access fishing grounds within a greater range, weather permitting. Multi-day charters will give us the opportunity to fish in different areas and make the most of your fishing and sightseeing opportunities.

All-Day Charters include all fishing gear, bait, and tackle. Hot coffee, snacks, soft drinks, and water are also provided. You will need to bring your own warm clothing and rain gear in order to be comfortable in Southeast Alaska’s temperate rainforest climate.

Trip Length: Fishing is best in the early hours of the day, so I recommend that we meet at Knudson Cove Marina at 06:30 A.M. We will return 8 – 10 hours later.

Fish Processing: There is a variety of affordable options for processing your catch and shipping it home.

Please call or email me to discuss any other requests. I can usually accommodate larger and smaller groups, or split fishing dates to fit with your schedule.
